Speed Spell/Trap Changes (and sphinxes)

So in some Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds World Championship games, various Speed Spells have their effects changed slightly. Some become easier to use while others become less broken. Either way I thought I'd bring these changes to attention.




Changed Speed Spells:

Accelerator Draw - Activate only when you have 12 Speed Counters, and your opponent has 5 or less Speed Counters. Draw 2 cards from your Deck.

Angel Baton - This card can be activated by removing 4 of your Speed Counters. Draw 2 cards from your Deck and send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard.

Count Up - Activate only when you have 2 or more Speed Counters. Send any number of cards from your hand to the Graveyard and increase your Speed Counters by 3 for each card sent to the Graveyard.

Curse of Fate - Activate only when you have 2 or more Speed Counters. Select 1 face-up monster you control. Inflict damage to your opponent equal to half that monster's ATK. It cannot attack this turn.

Deceased Synchron - Activate only by removing 8 of your Speed Counters. Select 1 Level 8 or lower Synchro Monster in your Extra Deck. Remove from play 1 Tuner monster and 1 non-Tuner monster in your Graveyard whose total Levels equal that Synchro Monster's Level, and Special Summon it. Remove it from play during the End Phase.

Final Attack - When you have 5 or more Speed Counters, you can activate this card by removing 2 of your counters. Double the ATK of 1 monster on your side of the field. The selected monster cannot attack your opponent directly and is destroyed at the End Phase of your turn.

Gap Storm - This card can be activated when the difference between your Speed Counters and those of your opponent is 7 or more. Destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field.

Overboost - Gain 6 Speed Counters. During the End Phase, reduce your Speed Counters to 1.

Power Baton - Activate only during the Damage Step when a monster you control battles while you have 3 or more Speed Counters. Send 1 Monster Card from your Deck to the Graveyard, your battling monster gains ATK equal to the ATK of the sent monster, until the end of the Damage Step. You cannot conduct your normal draw during your next Draw Phase.

Rapid Shotwing - This card can be activated when you have 3 or more Speed Counters. Increases the ATK of 1 face-up monster on your side of the field by 200 points x the number of your Speed Counters until the End Phase of your turn.

Silver Contrails
- This card can only be activated by removing 1 Speed Counters. Increase the ATK of 1 face-up monster you control by 1000 points until the End Phase of this turn.
Slowdown Machine - During the turn this card is activated, remove 1 of your opponent's Speed Counters for every 300 points of damage you inflicted to your opponent.

Sonic Buster - Remove 2 of your Speed Counters. Target 1 face-up monster you control and inflict damage to your opponent equal to half of its ATK.

Speed Energy - Remove 1 of your Speed Counters. Target monster you control gains ATK for each Speed Counter you have x200, until the End Phase.

Speed Force - Activate only when you have 4 or more Speed Counter. This turn, any cards you control cannot be destroyed by the effect of your opponent's Spell or Trap Card.

Speed Fusion - Activate only when you have 2 or more Speed Counters. Send Fusion Material Monsters that are listed by a Fusion Monster Card from your hand or your side of the field to the Graveyard, and Special Summon the Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.)

Star Force - Activate only when you have 2 or more Speed Counters. Remove from play 1 face-up monster you control to select 1 face-up monster you control. It gains ATK equal to the removed monster's Level x 200, until the End Phase.

Summon Close - Activate by removing 3 Speed Counters. By sending 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard, Draw 1 card. During this turn, your opponent cannot Special Summon any monsters.

Summon Speeder - Activate if you have 2 or more Speed Counters. Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand. It cannot attack this turn.

Synchro Return - Activate only when you have 3 or more Speed Counters. Special Summons 1 Synchro Monster that has been removed from play. A monster Special Summoned by this effect is removed from play at the End Phase.

The End of the Storm - This card can be activated by removing 8 of your Speed Counters. Destroy all monsters on the field and inflict 300 damage to each player for each of their destroyed monsters that were sent to the Graveyard.

Tune Up 123 - If you have 2 or more Speed Counters, select 1 face-up Tuner monster you control. Roll a six sided die and apply the following effects. ● 1 or 2: Increase the Level of that Tuner monster by 1. ● 3 or 4: Increase the Level of that Tuner monster by 2. ● 5 or 6: Increase the Level of that Tuner monster by 3.

Tyrant Force - Activate only by removing 7 of your Speed Counters. This turn, any cards you control cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects. Each time a card your opponent controls is destroyed by a card effect, inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each card destroyed

Vision Wind - Remove 2 of your Speed Counters. Special Summon 1 Level 2 or lower monster from your Graveyard. Destroy it during the End Phase.
Zero Reverse - This card can be activated by removing 2 of your Speed Counters. Special Summon 1 monster that was destroyed this turn from your Graveyard in Attack Position, with its ATK reduced to 0.


Changed Speed Counter-based Traps:

Acceleration Zone - Activate only when your opponent activates a "Speed Spell" Spell Card, Increases your Speed Counters by 6.

Des Accelerator - This card can be activated when you suffer Battle Damage. Increases your Speed Counters by 1 for every 300 points of Battle Damage to your Life Points.

Speed Edge - During your Standby Phase, if you have more Speed Counters than your opponent, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the difference between the number of Speed Counters x 200. You can only control 1 "Speed Edge".


Missing Speed Spells:

Defense Buster - Activate only when you have 2 or more Speed Counters. Select 1 Defense Position monster on the field, and change it to face-up Attack Position.

Takeover (Has Artwork) - Activate only while you have 4 or more Speed Counters. Select 1 face-up card on the field that has a counter on it. Destroy it, and gain 100 Life Points for each counter on it.


And because two of the sphinxes still don't have their Pyramid of Light Anime effects yea, I posted two suggestions (cuz it's about time):

Andro Sphinx - You can Special Summon this card from your hand or Deck when "Pyramid of Light" is on the field. This card cannot attack during the turn it is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned. This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard. If this card destroys a Defense Position monster as a result of battle, inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to half the ATK of the destroyed monster.

Sphinx Teleia - You can Special Summon this card from your hand or Deck when "Pyramid of Light" is on the field. This card cannot attack during the turn it is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned. This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard. When this card battles 1 of your opponent's monsters, negate its effects.
